Sintered parts with high porosity are mainly used as filters, silencers, for controlling and distributing gas and fluid flows or as flame resistors, as well as for aerators of fluids and stored bulk materials. The structure of the pores efficiently prevents long, fibrous particles from passing through. Also, thanks to the great liberty of design and the high mechanical strength of these filtering elements, they can be readily installed as load-bearing parts within a given construction.
